The One God

The Lord Jesus prays, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son that your Son may also glorify you. As you gave to Him authority over all flesh so that to all which you gave to Him, He may give to them everlasting life, even this is everlasting life, that they may know You, the Only True God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:1-3)

From the above passage, we can gather that the Father is “the only true God,” from the original Greek “ton monon alethinon Theon.” The Greek “monos” is one or only in English. And the noun form “aletheia” is truth.

The apostles also confess that there is “one God, the Father and one Lord, Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 8:6). Even in the Old Testament, the prophet Malachi writes, “Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God create us? (Mal. 2:10).” So this puts to rest the Doctrine of Trinity in which there is, aside from God the Father, there is God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The biblical title is “the Son of God” and “the Holy Spirit of God.” The title “God” belongs only to the Father, and “Lord” to the Son.
The Lord Jesus also confesses that the one God has “no voice nor form” (John 5:37). So God created first the Word (or the Son) to be His voice or spokesman (John 1:1) and to be His “image” (Colossians 1:15). As revealed in Proverbs 8:22, God can now speak or appear to mankind through His Son Jesus. God fully indwells the Son in a union, the Son speaking the words of the Father and appears for the Father.

Actually, the Son started as “the Angel of Jehovah” in the Old Testament, to be transformed later as man through the virgin birth. The purpose is for the Son to have blood to cleanse the sins of the world and to end the yearly sacrifice of animal blood in the Old Testament. So remaining as the Angel, the Son could not qualify as the Last Sacrifice because an angel does not have blood.

This Grand Plan of God only shows His love for the world. But inasmuch as God has also given man freewill, He does not force anyone to accept His love. Those who accept His Plan will believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to be saved and be like angels in heaven. But those who do not will travel the path of destruction. So make the right choice NOW!

  1. Hi, I have a few questions…..

I see that you quoted the following: The title “God” belongs only to the Father, and “Lord” to the Son…..

Here’s what I just read in the Word of God, “Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself; but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”
St.John 14:8-10 (And this is in red writing meaning that Jesus himself said this [from verses 9-10]

It looks like Philip asked Jesus to show him the Father; and Jesus replied, “Have I been so long time with you and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?” This means that Jesus is referring to himself……whom IS the Father….

Question: What do you mean the title “God” belongs only to the Father, and “Lord” to the Son when Jesus refers himself as the Father when he speaks in First Person to Philip?
    ———————————————————————————————–

So God created first the Word (or the Son) to be His voice or spokesman…..and to be His “image”

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

This entire verse embodies a noun/prepositional phrase/adjectival value…. Meaning that this entire sentence is granting ownership to God. the Word is a noun in the beginning, the Word is a preposition in the last two parts of the verse because they include a preposition and object of the preposition. With these, they modify ONE thing: God.

In the beginning was the Word…. (it was the Word)…. And the Word was with God……(the Word was with God)….. and the Word was God… (AND THE WORD WAS GOD). Conclusion: All are modifiers of God and the Word WAS God.

    — St. John 1:3 says, “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

Question: Who is “him” ? The Father?

–St. John 1:10-11 says, “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”

–Note that the world was made by him, which gives him the title as The Father; and the world knew him not…

Question: Who made the world?. The same being who made the world came into the world.. So, who was that?

———– Last Question: Is God, Father, Holy Spirit, Yahweh, Jehovah, Allah, Eloheim, and Christ a name? Or are they titles? What is the name of the God who holds all of these titles? For example, when a child calls their parent’s job, do they ask for mommy or daddy? If they do that,, what will the operator say?

    • The problem with many Christians is they mainly depend on translations without comparing them with the original language of the New Testament which is in Koine Greek if in harmony. We should bear in mind that the original language was the one inspired by the Holy Spirit and not the translation. So, to understand the truth of God, one should have a working knowledge of the Koine Greek of the New Testament.

For instance, you have cited John 1:1 where you read in the translation that “the Word was God,”hence believing that Jesus Christ is also God. But in the original Greek, it reads “kai Theos en ho logos” in transliteration. You will notice that there is no definite article “ho” (the) before Theos. When one is referring to God, it should be “ho Theos” (the God). In the Greek grammar, the absence of “ho” before Theos makes the sentence construction “anarthrous.” Meaning it refers to the quality of God and not His person. Hence, many Greek scholars and authors translate it as “divine or holy.” John 17:1-3 is very clear that God the Father is the Sender and the Son is the Sent One. Two persons are involved and not the same.

Also, you cited Colossians 1:16 where the translation you are using says, “all things were created by him.” The word “by” should be “through” because the Greek word used is “dia” (through) and not “hupo” (by). God the Father created all things through the agency of Jesus Christ the Son. God dictated what should be done and the Son executed it.

Hence, to come up with the truth of God, one should study and have a working knowledge of the Koine Greek of the New Testament to not be deceived.

  2. Hence, to understand the mystery of the gospel is to understand who Jesus Christ was, is, and is to come. One also must understand the origin of Christianity. Where does the Western Word get their beliefs from? What do the Jews believe in? Monotheism. Monotheism is the belief in One God. Anything that is contrary to Monotheism is Paganism. Shema Yisrael, Adonai eloheinu, Adonai echad ד שְׁמַע, יִשְׂרָאֵל: יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ, יְהוָה אֶחָד . This is the reference to any doctrine and if it is not in sync with God’s chosen people, then it is deception. The Jews do not believe in the Trinity or Binity. One must also learn the Septuagint translations of the Hebrew Text (word for word from the Shema) because Koine Greek has been refined in many ways (you can start with 300/400 AD). You will find, once the Hebrew is translated in Ancient Greek, that the meaning is clear: GOD IS ONE. Since the translations are the same in Greek and Hebrew (Shema), what makes one think the words are contrary that Jesus Is God UNless the translated doctrine has been refined? Jesus is [the God].
